Been skip diving again and found a left over metallic

tile(I think that’s what it is ?). To be exact I pulled

out a tile and half.

Anyway as soon as I saw it going spare my mind just

shouted 40k modelling possibilities. So initially I

thought Space Hulk anything as the tiles are almost

perfect size for a 28mm figure. Cargo bay as one whole

tile ? Cut it up into corridor sections? Use it as sci-fi

walling or just individual figure bases ?

Anybody got any other cunning plans of what to use it for ?

The metal is very thin so each bit is very flexible,

which is great for kit bashing 🙂

In my endless pursuit of taking pictures of finished

models and getting the picture just right I am

just loving playing around with backdrops. You can

just simply find an image on the net or one of your

own and just print it out. While you are checking out

the piccies I hope you notice my latest skip find. I found

tile and a half of metallic tile. I`m thinking Space Hulk

cargo bay or individually removing the single squares for

basing figures ?

The Chaos Prince picture just lends itself to the saying,

It came from the Warp

Two Ultramarine Landspeeders painted in different blues

and painted 2 years apart.

I painted the one on left(no rockets) just over

2 yrs ago in the traditional faded blue colour.

Basically, Macragge Blue, Drakenhof Nighshade,

Altdorf Guard and Calgar Blue.

This a gives a dusty, weathered blue look and I did a basic job.

The newer Landspeeder is more in the modern blue/purple look that

Ultramarines are going. Colour wise its roughly Kantor Blue,Altdorf

Guard and Fenrisian Grey.

This for me is a more an experimental colour as it involves mixing

3 basic colours with each other to get darker and lighter shades

of blue. So much so, I would find it hard to get an exact match again.

I have improved detail wise but I like the old dusty, weathered looking

Ultramarine style to the newer clean look.

Which do you prefer ?

This has been taking shape for ages and I`m just

glad to finally say, done !

The building is based on Pegasus Hobbies parts,

plus balsa wood to make the various floor beams.

The church ruin is based on a normal GW board with

styrofoam providing the Japanese style castle, raised

base. I wanted it to look like a statement on the

surrounding flat landscape. I have tested the space

available for defenders and it easily holds 75 Chaos

Marines and a Rhino 🙂

I bought the steps at the front off fleabay for £6 and

the inner damaged staircase was another £8 off fleabay

as well.

I`m thinking of filling it with Imperial Guard and

sending an Ork Waaagh against it 🙂

To quote AR Turner,”Not just light at the end of the tunnel,

but glorious chaotic light

I know its not everything finished but its a start 🙂

Now that my painters block has been removed(excuses, excuses)

I should be able to finish the rest.

Been busy of late and finally finished these guys.

£5 off ebay plus 99p post and packaging and all still

attached to the sprue. Anyway what seemed like an easy

Terminator paint became rather slow and tedious due to

the large amount of tiny detail on these models. Well done

GW on making such high quality kit but its hell to paint.

Anyway hope you like them ?

The basic colour is a Tamiya white base coat with a couple

of Ushabti Bone dry brushes. The red is a build up of Mephiston

Red, Evil Sunz scarlet and Wild rider red. The Green is Caliban

Green, Warpstone and then Moot.

Round about six months ago I started these 3 Blood Angels and

they have been gathering dust ever since. My recent 24hr blitz

on the scouts got me in the mood again and I finally

finished them off.

I must take some more photos when I have a spare minute.

Also I wonder why I put so much bling on these guys when

I put them together lol.

My son got these for Christmas and decided they needed to be battle ready.

Only problem was that he decided this on Thursday just gone and wanted

them ready for Saturday just gone in time for a visiting friend.

AaaaaRRRRRRRRRRhhhhhhhhhhhh

So the five man squad got a 24hr blitz and as table top ready they

are not too bad.

It can be done in 24hrs,but I would rather take a week.

These guys having been sitting in the bottom of a box for months

and it was time to finish them off.

Five beaky space marines in a Blood Angels theme.

Enjoy.
