I scratch built this terrain for wargaming in the post apocalyptic wasteland. Its ideal for Fallout Wasteland Warfare by Modiphius but would suit any Fallout themed game.

The billboard was constructed from simple balsa wood and the spot lights are pinched from HO model railway platform lights. The “Nuka Cola ” advert was simply printed from the internet and resized to fit. I added a few holes for weathering. The base is made from plasticard and a bit of model railway ballast.

Small update of the project so far. The pictures taken show the first time I have put the whole thing together with surroundings just to get a feel for the project and how it all links together. Lots of work still to do inside and the roof needs a bit more work but apart from that its coming on nicely.

After completing the build on my Churchill and Panther tank and builing a large batch of walls, what better excuse for a quick diorama to show them off.

The diorama is based on a real event that took place in the village of Tilly-Sur-Seulles on the 18/19th June 1944. The 2nd Essex Regiment were assualting the village with support from the 81st Assault Squadron RE. The Churchill AVRE unexpectedly came upon a chance encounter with a Panther tank and fired a snap shot at it unfortunetly missing, but striking a near by telegraph pole or tree and thus destroying the Panther tank.

The diorama wall was simply made from foam card and the tree behind the wall is scratch built from wire. I used a simple photograph as a backdrop. The black and white photograph is actually a real shot taken in Tilly after the battle.

Although not easy to see, the dust behind the Churchill tank is made from Poly Fill which was sprayed cream and then had the dust/dirt from the road glued onto it.

Both tanks and figures are 1/56 scale made for Bolt Action gaming.

Elder Scrolls Call to Arms is the board game version of the game made by Modiphius which uses 32mm figures in a skirmish type system of game play.

They make a limited amount of terrain and I wanted to re create a small house commonly found in Skyrim. Timeline miniatures provided me with an ideal starting frame using a Viking Hut from their Saga series of games. Houses in the Nord parts of Skyrim have a Viking look and theme to them so it was ideal for the initial shape.

I basically clad the hut in model wood planking and created a veranda using balsa wood and cock-tail sticks. Balsa wood was also used for the top wood bit on the roof and faux fur for the thatch roof.

This was the original Timeline model below.

Just finished a test four Men-At-Arms group.

The snow theme seems to be my favoured choice and I am quite pleased with the Woodland Scenics snow flake effect.

I am in the process of building 3 armies for Bolt Action and

I `m slowly making head way. I am painting British ,American and

German.

First up is a British Army Command Group.

Second, British Forward Observer Team.

Third US Army Command Group.

And finally US 50 Cal HMG Team.

I am working on a PAK40 and Nebelwerfer for the

Germans which are nearly finished.

Its been a while ,but finally the tanks are rolling out across my battle board again. The dust is being blown off the paint pots and the brushes are being nursed back to life.

Anyway just a quick picture update on what is on the painting table as it pours down with freezing rain outside.

First up as you can see a friend has got me painting his tanks from the Gale Force 9 board game.

Hopefully now that I am back in the swing of things you should get some more updates shortly.

I bought this from Peter Pig a while back and

I have finally finished it to my satisfaction.

You basically get the resin cast as in the picture

below and its up to you from there on in.

What I really like about the model is the crew

members that have tried to bail out too late.

Just so you know, I am still madly modelling

and the work is already building up.

Some finished pieces as of late include a stack

of 15mm field gates, some grave stones and a pile

of sand bags. All made by Loic Neveu.

Another day and another terrain project on

the go. This time its terrain specifically for

the game Infinity and as per usual I`m going

to stamp my own interpretation on it. Now nearly

all the terrain I have seen so far for Infinity

involves modern Sci Fi type city areas. Yes the

game needs lots of buildings for cover but I think

people need to be a bit more daring with their terrain

and just imagine that not everywhere in the future will

look like something out of a Judge Dread film.

Somewhere I have always been fascinated with is a little

known place at the bottom of the world. Its called Leith

harbour and can be found on South Georgia. Specifically

I love the old whaling station which is still very well

preserved but slowly rusting way. One of things that

attracts me to this location is the fantastic rust

colours against the landscape and the vast amount of

various metal equipment that has been just discarded.

For me its the perfect playground for a fight and I

intend on basing my terrain on that environment and

adding a modern Sci Fi theme into the rusting arena.

Big picture of Leith below:

Added to that will be a large amount of snow and ice.

I have recycled some 15mm Flames Of War terrain boards

and got straight to work. I aim to make the boards

(which are 2 X 2 in size) modular and will start with

four boards and then add more.

So far I am just working on board one which will be

a dock type area. The picture at the top shows the rough

layout with the blue representing the water.

I had to build up the edges of the board

with additional battens. The boat is 1/48 scale kit that

will be turned into a rusting hulk. It will be next to

run down jetty(which was a 15mm FOW Russian scratch built

recycled bridge). There will also be a small modern bridge

leading to a small island/sand bank which will also have

some modern looking bit of equipment on it. Perhaps the

radar of my recent diorama ?

The theme sort of goes along the lines of run down whaling

station to the casual observer but on closer inspection not

all as it seems ? Time to send out a 5 man Pano response

team for a closer look.

I have now built up the dock area and added a balsa wood

wall. The white paint is just covering the annoying green

underneath lol

Next up will be the jetty and island construction .
